Thoughts of a RevolutionaryI suppose that this occasion would be one where I have something to thank tree-huggers for. My fellow and rebels and I were forced to flee into the forests after our failed assault on the capital of our country. Situated on a peninsula, we have the ocean to our backs and governmental troops in front. Thanks to said tree-huggers, the government has decided not to carpet bomb the forest. Or firebomb it. Or just bomb it in general. The trees are close together, so sending in mechanized troops does not work very well. Tanks and armored vehicles have no place here. They must send in infantry troops, and we can deal with foot soldiers.Thoughts of a Revolutionary

The troops paraded through our city, and our class was allowed to visit a military facility. We were allowed to decorate the bombs that we were told were to be used against the enemy. My friend tied a pink ribbon onto one.
The next day, bombs rained down upon our heads.
I survived the raid. As I wandered the streets, wondering who was still alive, and who wasn't, I spotted a bomb on the ground, a dud.
It had a pink ribbon tied onto it.

I remember when the rivers used to be full of clear water. Nowadays, they are stained red with blood.
I remember when the townspeople used to smile. Nowadays, those who smile, are insane.
I remember when we could buy the food we ate. Nowadays, we must forage for it ourselves.
I remember when the only time we ever saw a dead body was when we went to a funeral. Nowadays, dead bodies litter the streets.

The man shifted uneasily as he uttered these words. It's not that he was uncomfortable challenging the authority of his superiors; well, actually, he was rather uncomfortable. But that wasn't really why he felt uneasy. It was just that talking to this person was rather... difficult to do.
After all, the man was several ranks above him. A veteran who had been fighting far longer than he had. A decorated war hero who had earned recognition fighting valiantly in foreign lands.
It was made all the more awkward by the fact that the man was his brother.
